Dynamic Design
Alex’s custom campaign artwork celebrated the important role that indie bookstores play in their communities. Since the campaign is all about getting out on the town and visiting bookstores, I designed the campaign graphics in a way that evoked movement and energy (e.g., cyclist riding off the edge of the page). Graphics included bookmarks and posters for in-store promotion, as well as social images, web banners, and more.

Something for Everyone
There was a lot to love in Alex’s illustration and these graphics had to work for all CIBA member bookstores – many of which have different vibes, clienteles, and goals. For almost every graphic, I provided multiple design options so bookstores could choose the ones that best suited their style or use multiple graphics for visual variety.
The Result
This year’s campaign was a massive success. The client saw huge growth in participation, with hundreds of stores getting involved and thousands of readers shopping local on April 29. The graphics were widely used and praised by bookstores, industry partners, and readers alike.
